The Croatian Heritage Museum staff has worked very hard on its exhibits this year, beginning with the traditional Easter customs. The major exhibit was “From Old World to New World –The Artwork of George Jure Prpic. The exhibit was curated by Frank Prpic and featured his father’s artwork, books, and poetry. The next exhibit will be the traditional Christmas customs that will be exhibited from December 4th through January 13th. The opening for this exhibit will be Sunday, December 4th at 1 PM.
Phase 1 of the Croatian Cultural Garden has begun this past summer. So far the work on the waterfall, walkways, statue plaza, water hookup, sprinkling system, and grass reseeding have been completed. The six Brac stone benches and the bronzed Immigrant Mother statue have arrived from Croatia. Installation of the statue and benches will be completed this spring with the dedication ceremony tentatively scheduled for the month of May. Look for details early next year. We are looking for a small amount of Croatian soil to be placed in our garden. Please bring it to the museum if you wish to donate.
